Ensuring Peak Performance
Noveen understands that as hospital facilities become increasingly complex with system integration, clients look to our team to provide an additional level of quality assurance. More than half of early equipment failures can be traced to design, installation, or startup deficiencies. Many unnecessary outages are due to improper control sequence, coordination, and calibration of protective devices, as well as design errors. In other cases, the failures don’t occur until the equipment experiences seasonal changes and the warranties have expired.
After commissioning over $2.0 billion in healthcare construction in recent years, Noveen knows that a hospital is a mission-critical facility. We can ensure any issues with building systems and equipment are resolved before beds are filled and procedures are performed. Our commissioning team will provide assurance that newly installed equipment is properly tested and operating efficiently.
In addition, we provide retro-commissioning to make systems work as they were intended to work, not necessarily as they were installed. Energy savings is the economic driver with improved indoor environments a major supplemental benefit. Noveen’s web-based remote commissioning combines building energy system monitoring with our retro-commissioning practices to provide substantial and continued energy savings. Our web-based monitoring increases the effectiveness of retro-commissioning and our energy reduction programs by verifying and ensuring the persistence of savings achieved through operational improvements.
You get what you inspect, not what you expect.
Children’s of Alabama – Birmingham, AL
Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children: 700,000 square feet, Completed 2012
Children’s of Alabama constructed a new 700,000-square-foot facility across from the existing hospital. Noveen Consulting provided Enhanced Commissioning for this Gold LEED Certified Facility. In addition, Noveen provided construction inspection services through the construction. The field reports, generated bi-monthly, identified more deficiencies and allowed for corrections to be made before owner occupancy. Noveen later was engaged to provide commissioning of backfill renovation projects in the existing hospital.
